Nitrogene-E was born the week the Carpenters had a number one hit with "Close to You." In July 1970. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago by the age of 9 he had started to collect records. His first vinyl 45 was "Do You Think I'm Sexy by Rod Stewart". By the age of 14 he began a 50 crate 12" collection with just about any artist you could name. He would go to the local record store once a week and blow his entire allowance which back then was twenty bucks. At the age 19 he got his first break in a local dive on the south side of the city, were he stayed and mastered his skills for three years. Taking a break in the winter of 1999 he relocated to North Carolina where he spun on Friday nights. Not liking the east coast in 2002 he relocated again to Albuquerque, NM. It was there that he started to get involved with music production, self taught on the piano he used this skill to work with the Fuityloops software. In 2004 he moved back home to Chicago and briefly took a few gigs to pass the time. In 2009 dragqueendiaries.com commissioned him for a few remixes and have recently signed him to do editorial work, as well as a top 100 chart. This summer Nitrogen-E competed with 185 local DJ's in the Chicago Lollapalooza Contest. He finished in 10th place overall. On July 4th, www.nitrogen-e.com was launched. Working with Aaron and Michael, Nitrogen-E helped co-found WAGMRadio.com. Into the future...Nitrogen-E says "I would like to keep working with the gay community, we are such a diverse crowd and we are changing rapidly. The community has given so much to me, now I feel at the age of 39, at my creative peak, to be able to give something back." WAGMRadio is excited to have Nitrogen-E as one of our co-founders, Program Directors and Radio Personalities. Here's to a very successful launch! |
