Season 6; Episode 14

“The Glamorous Life”

(Originally Aired: 1/31/10)

Lynette doesn’t like that Dr. Graham always sides with Tom. Tom convinces her to attend a play the doctor is in. She’s terrible, which Lynette tells her, but Tom lies and says she was “Great.” Tom admits he likes to be the good cop, forcing Lynette to always be the bad cop. Tom finally admits he hated the play too, and the therapist orders them both out.

Bree is puzzled by Orson’s new found happiness, until she finds his suicide letter! She vows to watch him 24 hours a day.

Angie and Gaby clash over Ana and Danny. Angie convinces Gaby that it’s time for a safe sex talk, but when Carlos sees Gaby’s bought condoms for Ana, he threatens to kill Danny. He tells her that if Ana gets pregnant, she’ll be the one taking care of the baby.

Gaby writes Ana an unsigned check, which she’ll sign if Ana graduates high school without having had sex. But as Ana sees it, her promise not to have sex doesn’t include Danny. Carlos catches Danny with Ana and threatens to kill him. Angie barges in and shouts, “You ever touch him again, you’re dead.” Carlos and Gaby come over the next night to apologize and overhear Nick telling Angie that soon the truth about them will come out. I think Gaby will be keeping a closer eye on the Bolens from here on out.

As Susan is signing her self out of ownership of Double D’s she meets stripper Robin, who she tells that it’s never too late to change your life, so she quits! And shows up at her house the next day. Now Susan feels responsible for her, so she hires Robin as her assistant at school. One of the students’ fathers, who just so happens to be one of the schools’ biggest financial supporters, recognizes her and she’s fired on the spot. Susan talks Mike into letting Robin move in until she finds a job.

Orson dares Bree to say she loves him and she can’t do it. She forces him to attend an anniversary celebration for an elderly couple and leaves him by the pool. She sees him about to wheel himself in and she runs to stop him. He asks what he’s got to live for her, if she doesn’t love him anymore, and she says, “I loved you once. I can’t recapture that if you’re not here.”

Desperate Housewives: “How About A Friendly Shrink?” (Season 6; Episode 13)

Desperate Housewives: Season 6; Episode 12: “You Gotta Get a Gimmick”

Desperate Housewives

Season 6; Episode 12

“You Gotta Get a Gimmick”

(Originally aired 1/10/10)

Family members gather to hear the details of Karl’s last will and testament. Much to her surprise, Susan receives ownership in a business. And what “very successful” business could Karl have been part owner of ? A strip club, of course! Susan meets the man who co-owned the place with Karl, when a stripper named Destiny introduces her self to Susan and mentions that she knows a Mike Delfino, and that he’s a regular customer. This is not going to go well for Mike.

Carlos and Gabrielle present Lynette and Tom with a new 60-inch TV. It’s the least they can do for saving their daughter from death. Tom offers to fill in for Lynette going to work for Carlos to take some of the workload off of him while Lynette is indisposed due to her pregnancy.  Of course Lynette hates the idea. Bree confesses to her reverand that she had an affair with dead Karl, and the guilt is killing her because she blames herself for Orson being paralyzed from the plane crash. The reverand urges Bree to take care of Orson — even if it’s the last thing she wants to do.Gabrielle, Juanita and Carlos meet with the principal of a private school for Juanita. This is where Juanita finds out she’s Mexican, even though she was born in America.  Bree meets wheelchair-bound Orson at the hospital and offers to bring him home. He would rather be taken care of by a “helper monkey”, but Bree insists.  Susan confronts Mike about the strip club, and he explains that the strip club is one of his accounts. She forbids him from going to the club. He doesn’t take it well.  Tom returns home from work and shows his wife a proposal he wrote. She volunteers to “fix it,” but it turns out that Tom doesn’t need the help. Carlos called the proposal “the best he had ever read”, which makes Lynette see red.

Bree discovers that Mrs. McCluskey has volunteered to take in Orson, claiming that “Once he gets the divorce settlement, he’s writing me a big, fat check!”  Bree forcibly wheels her not-yet-ex out of her home and into her own. And there’s nothing Orson can do about it. Or is there?? We’ll have to see how he plans his revenge.  Lynette goes to work to visit Carlos and make it clear that Tom is only a temporary fix and she is coming back to work after she has the baby. Carlos reassures Lynette that she can have her job back anytime she is ready. Turns out Tom told Carlos that Lynette was planning to be stay at home Mom to take care of the baby. This is not going to go well for Tom.

Ana wants to get closer to Danny, but “There’s not a lot of room to be into to you, because of how much you’re into you,” he explains.  Ouch.  Ana throws his overdose back in his face. At first he is furious at her, then suddenly interested in her.

Back at home, Gabrielle is preparing to celebrate the fact that Juanita got accepted into the private school.  Carlos has second thoughts and wants to send her to a public school with a large Latino population instead, forcing Gabrielle to face her Mexican Heritage.  At the strip club, Mike shows up to fix a bathroom under false pretenses. It was all a set-up by Susan who appears onstage as “Ms. Fix It” and begins dancing seductively on a pole.  Mike apologizes and swears to never come back to the club if Susan will stop gyrating, which he does, thank God!

Back at home, Orson has taken a new tactic with Bree: He is demanding EVERYTHING, including re-heated soup and dessert made from scratch. “I would get it myself, but …” he trails off as he gestures to his wheelchair.

So, what did you all think of the episode? I would love to hear from you!

Until Next Time!

Desperate Housewives: Season 6; Episode 11: “If…”

Desperate Housewives: Season 6; Episode 11

“If…” (originally aired 1/3/10)

In the hospital after the plane crash Carlos, Gaby, Lynette, Tom, Nick, Angie, Bob, and Susan are waiting for news on those hurt in the accident. Bree was banged up but will be okay. Karl, Mona, and Orson are all still in surgery. Celia has a concussion, but Carlos quickly points out that they have Lynette to thank for her still being alive.  Lynette suddenly experiences pain in her belly, and fears that there’s something wrong with the babies. As Lynette is taken to see a doctor, each housewife experiences a “what if” scenario:
Susan wonders what would have happened if she had stayed married to Karl. He promises to change and she promises to swallow her rage, so she gets fat. Mike arrives to fix the sink, and tells Susan if she’s unhappy she should do something about it. Fast forward three years later: she loses the weight but Karl leaves her anyway and Mike is married to someone else.  As Susan snaps out of it, the doctor tells her Karl is dead.

Bree is lying in a hospital bed, and dreams about what her life would’ve been like with Karl. He says being with her will make him into a changed man. But, of course, it doesn’t. He cheats on her and she kicks him to the curb. Seven years later, Orson dies of a heart attack and she’s called by his land lady to go clean out his apartment. It is full of pictures of Bree and the landlady says she thinks he died of a a broken heart. Bree awakes and the doctor says Orson’s out of danger, but there were complications and he may be paralyzed.

Angie and Nick wait to hear about Mona’s condition. She’s in a coma, but the nurse says she’s a fighter. Angie imagines Mona awakening and calling the police and pictures a future in which she gets life in prison without possibility of parole.  Back in reality at the hospital, Angie gets the word Mona is dead.

In Celia’s hospital room, Gaby says she thinks God saved Celia because she has a special gift. She’s not sure what yet, but knows it will be amazing. Gaby climbs in with Celia and falls asleep and dreams of what Celia’s amazing life will be. Gaby decides she’s meant to be an actress, even though she sucks at it. Carlos wants to send Celia to camp so she can have a normal life. Gaby won’t allow it, and Carlos leaves her. Many more years pass and a gray-haired Gaby, living in a dilapidated house is still pushing 25-year old Celia to be an actress. Gaby says she has to since she doesn’t want her life to have been for nothing. Gaby awakes a bit wiser knowing Celia doesn’t have to do anything amazing to be special, she just is.

A doctor looks over Lynette who has a tear in her placenta. One baby is fine but the other is at risk of being born developmentally challenged if they don’t operate. During surgery, Lynette imagines a life with a disabled child from the difficult physical therapy and lack of discernible progress, to watching him graduate from law school many years later and pay tribute to her for being where he is today. She awakens from surgery and Tom informs her they lost one of the babies. They were going to name him Patrick and he was going to be amazing!

Desperate Housewives Season 6; Episode 10: “Crash, Boom!”

Desperate Housewives

Season 6

Episode 10

“Boom, Crunch!”

desperateBoom

Disaster strikes the fair citizens of Fairview and particularly Wisteria Lane yet again. When will everyone finally realize this block is cursed and move!?

The hotly awaited and much talked about 10th episode of the 6th season, entitled, befittingly enough, “Boom, Crash!”  When I was expecting more drama, which i was in no mood for, this was probably the wittiest “disaster” episode in the series history.  Of course, there’s the mid-season cliff-hanger which every network seems to be high on nowadays, but the scenes leading up to the big plane crash scene were pretty great.

With the neighborhood setting up for their annual Christmas celebration, the episode goes back three days before the crash so everything can be set up for the impending tragedy. The married couple (the husband being portrayed by guest star Dan Castellaneta, otherwise known as the voice of Homer simpson) hired by Karl to fly their small plane over Wisteria Lane pulling a banner that reads, BREE, WILL YOU MARRY ME? LOVE KARL, was classic! While the couple bickers, the husband has a fatal heart attack and the wife is left to land the plane safely. Preferably NOT on a residential street. Of course we know that won’t happen.

Susan has finally gone completely nuts after losing Mike, to the point of stabbing herself and then pinning the blame on him.  Susan calls Katherine’s daughter Dylan (away since season 4) under false pretenses only to have Dylan tell Susan that her mother has been filling her head with stories of how Susan was trying to steal Mike away from her until Susan shows her pictures from the wedding. A confused Dylan then confronts her mother in the hospital, where she tries to say that Susan stabbed her and she never pointed the finger at Mike. When confronted with the truth, Katherine has what was probably her final meltdown.

The feud between Gabby and Lynette shows no signs of letting up, forcing Tom to drop out of college (when will this guy get a break already?) and Lynette to try and apologize to Gabby, but to no avail.  Bree presents Orson with divorce papers, and he finally finds out that Bree is indeed having an affair. A fight ensues in Santa’s Workshop. Bree tries to break up the scuffle to no avail and that’s the last we see of them before the plane destroys Santa’s Workshop with, assuming, all three left inside.

The Bolens on the other hand, have even bigger problems now that nurse Mona knows the truth about everything after Danny unwittingly told her. Mona tries to extort a huge sum of money from them or go to the police with what she knows. But, since at that moment the small plane crash lands and nurse Mona is presumed to be the first one to be offed.  We see everyone scatter as the plane slides down the lane, Lynette grabs a petrified Celia and pulls her out of the plane’s path (which should, by right, end her and Gabbys feud), but as I said, the plane took out most of Santa’s Workshop where Bree, Karl and Orson were last seen alive, we’re left with the realization from Mary Alice in the end, that one of them will have seen their last Christmas.

I have tried to avoid all the gossip about who dies and who lives, and I’ve read it all.  The reports are that 3 will parish. I prefer to wait it out until the season continues in January.  How bout you?  Any predictions? Comments?

Until Next Time!

Desperate Housewives: Season 6 Episode 9: “Would I Think Of Suicide?”

Desperate Housewives

Season 6 Episode 9

“Would I Think Of Suicide?”

Desperate Housewives Suicide

This week’s episode of Desperate Housewives marked the beginning of the war between Carlos and Lynette over the fact that she is pregnant and hid her pregnancy as long as she could so she wouldn’t be fired.

Who will win the war? And will the Scavos and Solises ever be the friends they once were. We’ll Have to watch and see.

Katherine’s craziness has finally reached a boiling point for me. It was fun for a while but her antics to get back at Mike were getting a bit old. Did Katherine stab herself to get Mike’s back? Or did she do it because his final words to her  were more than she could bear?

Now that Bree and Karl have Susan’s blessing do you think it will change their relationship, now that someone knows? And what will ultimately happen to Orson in all of this? I didn’t think I liked the idea of a Karl and Bree relationship but I have to admit they’re growing on me as a couple. And, more importantly, is Karl capable of changing for ANY woman, let alone Bree?

We learned some more things about the mysterious Bolen Family this week.  Nick admitted to Angie that he was the last customer at the coffee shop and was there around closing time. Later, he also told Angie that he called the Feds. We know Angie killed a man and that is why she is on the run. Nick and Danny went along so she wouldn’t be alone.  Danny told Julie he still wants to be with her even though she slept with his dad. She rejects him, he tries killing himself with pills and while in the hospital, he tells a nurse his real name: Tyler.  Will the nurse live long enough to tell anyone?  If she does, this could be the end of the road for the Bolen’s.her and wants to be with her even if she slept with his father. She rejected him, which lead to Danny trying to commit suicide.

Then there’s the little matter of the Wisteria Lane Strangler. Mary Alice said that the killer is a “he” and “he” isn’t finished yet.  But are we sure the killer is, in fact, a “he”? Would Mary Alice mislead us? However, I do believe Mary Alice when she says that the killer isn’t done yet. Who’s next? The nurse who now knows Danny’s real first name? Or will the killer try to kill Julie again? Is the person who strangled Julie and the person who killed Emily the same person? Is there more than one killer?

If you’ve Seen the previews for next week’s episode, then you already know something big is about to hit Wisteria Lane. And I mean that literally. A plane crashes right on Wisteria Lane, and from what I could see, everyone is on the street!  The Ad also alludes to someone not surviving the crash, and someone else emerging a hero.  If you’d like to submit your predictions here, please do so, and we’ll see if anyone gets it right!

Until Next Time,

Happy Viewing!

“Desperate Housewives” Season 6; Episode 8 “Coffee Cup”

Desperate Housewives

Season 6; Episode 8

“Coffee Cup”

This week Susan manages to avoid jail time for shooting Katherine, AND instead is sentences to garbage pick up for all of her “trash talking” of Katherine. Talk about the punishment fitting the crime!  Katherine taunts Susan and her orange jumpsuit, and Susan to turn the tables on her. Katherine has a hissy fit and reveals that she and Mike once had sex five times in one day, which of course gets Susan all worked up. When Susan can’t get Mike in the sack more than three times in one day, she has one of her typical annoying tantrums. Mike comforts her by telling her that the only reason he and Katherine had sex five times in one day is that the sex was the only thing that their relationship was founded on. I guess this was meant to be an “aww” inducing moment, but I was too busy wondering where M.J. has been in the last few episodes.  Besides, I couldn’t be more over the whole Mike, Susan, Katherine love triangle.

On to Angie, who is becoming my favorite addition to any of the seasons so far. And to be honest, the other housewives toils and tribulations were becoming dull and boring, and almost made me give up the show altogether after the dismal season five. Anyway, Angie’s now beside herself, what with giving Nick grief about his affair with Julie and being too involved with Bree’s life.  Orson admits to Angie that he suspects Bree is having an affair, and of course, Angie immediately tells Bree.  She refuses to spy on Bree, and yet still manages to get all tangled up in it, looking on as Orson enters the house while Bree and Karl are upstairs getting it on. Angie intervenes and saves the day, but how long before she asks Bree to return the favor. Also, when Orson is discussing the plot of Madame Butterfly, I got the impression he was hinting at the thought of killing  himself because he will, as everyone else in due time, find out about Bree’s affair. Personally, both Karl and Orson kind of bug me so I’m just as torn as Bree is about which man to choose.

Elsewhere, Lynette thinks she has the perfect way to hide her expanding secret pregnancy. She’ll just wear Tom’s clothes! Ah, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg, when she and Gaby start squaring off over one of Lynette’s colleagues. Gaby convinces Carlos to transfer Terrence, the colleague in question, to Florida so that Juanita can take Terrence’s daughter’s spot at a Catholic school. Realizing that she won’t be able to take maternity leave without Terrence, Lynette turns the tables and convinces Terrence to reject the transfer. The tables turn on Lynette when Gaby discovers that she’s pregnant — and Carlos is pissed. He gives Lynette an ultimatum — take the spot in Florida, or quit. Though Carlos’s anger is understandable, I think I’m on Lynette’s side here. Carlos had been complaining about another co-worker’s pregnancy, so Lynette had every right to be scared to tell him.

And, lastly, who killed the coffee shop waitress at the end of the episode? We know Nick was the only customer in the place right before it happened, but could it be THAT obvious? Where has Danny been? Was it him? Was He watching through the window?  Are you in favor of Orson or Karl? Tell me!

As there will be no episode this week due to the American Music Awards, we’ll talk again in 2 weeks!!

Until Next Time!

Desperate Housewives Season 6; Episode 7: “Careful The Things You Say”

desperate-housewives_l

Hello Housewife watchers!

Not the BEST episode by far this season, but I guess they’re just getting geared up for the big plane crash episode.

First of all, where were Anna and Celia? Maybe we’ll see them next week, who knows? Other than that, Juanita is a snooty little kid, working on my last nerve, and Gaby really isn’t meant to be a teacher at all. I’m glad they figured that out, too, because all the yelling was getting old to me. The kid just needs a good spanking, sorry.

I know it’s not her fault, but somehow Lynette just becomes the one that everyone confides in. I’m glad she stood up to Nick. And I’m glad that she and Tom went to the police to tell them what they know.

Well, no Karl rendezvous this week. Looks like Bree is keeping true to her word. That and the fact that she got a client wanted an Italian Spread at their wedding anniversary, so Bree “borrowed” Angie’s Grandmothers super-secret family recipes. Ultimately Bree hired Angie to work for her, and I was quite entertained to see such different ladies working together.

Katherine got Susan thrown in jail by police detective guest star Kathy Najimy, who back in High School her boyfriend was stolen away by Susan. Susan, apparently was quite the popular girl in high school and just so happened the one girl who didn’t like her decided to be her detective on the case to solve Julie’s attack. I think next week will be better when Susan actually goes to court against Katherine.

I am loving Angie more and more with her straightforward personality, and then the fact that she knew about Nick’s affair and then punched him over it, and her amazing Italian cooking…yeah she’s a keeper. However, I do love the mystery, too, when she was fighting with Nick and saying how they can’t leave each other; yeah, I’m waiting for that storyline to come to a head. I Still say they are either in witness protection or in the mob…

Next week looks quite promising, with a trial, sleeping around, and, well basically another day on Wisteria Lane!!

Until Next Time

Happy Viewing

Desperate Housewives: Season 6; Episode 6: “Don’t Walk On The Grass”

desperate6.6

Desperate Housewives

Season 6; Episode 6

“Don’t Walk On The Grass”

(Originally Aired 11.01.09)

Where do I begin with this week’s episode of Desperate Housewives?

Bree is still cheating on Orson, Katherine is still thinks she has a chance with Mike, Juanita accidentally blurts out a four-letter word in her school’s recital and Gaby’s bad parenting has her home-schooling her. Tom is failing in college and has two of his classmates help him cheat on finals and Angie is being, well, Angie.  Read on…

During Juanita’s Thanksgiving pageant, she repeatedly blows her line and drops an F-bomb, causing the Principal to have a sit-down with Gabby and Carlos, and when Gabby thinks Juanita’s punishment is too severe, pulls her child out of the school, but since there are no private schools available to enroll Juanita in, Carlos insists that Gabby home-school the child, since it was obviously her fault that Juanita learned the naughty word. And, of course, nothing goes right. Juanita misses going to school and refuses to cooperate with her Mom.

Meanwhile, Tom is flunking out of college, so he enlists the help of a couple of school buddies to get answers for a final exam, which of course, does not sit well with Lynette. Tom counter-attacks her with the fact that she is hiding her pregnancy from her friends and her boss at work (Carlos), for fear that she could get fired.  Not a good season for the Scavo’s so far. When will Tom’s mid-life crisis end?

Katherine tries to patch things up with Susan, on the advice of Angie, but of course things turn ugly when Katherine calls Mike for a late-night plumbing emergency (which of course there was none) not expecting Susan to tag along. Susan wanders into Katherine’s bedroom after the way she was dressed when she answered the door and finds Katherine’s bedroom prepared for a seductive evening and the bathtub filled with bubblebath, which of course Susan and Katherine end up fighting in. That scene reminded me of a classic fight between Alexis and Crystal on Dynasty.

Bree does Not want to fall in love with Karl, but she is starting to develop actual “feelings” for him. Then, he gives her the brooch that Susan recognizes as her grandmother’s that she thought she lost when she divorced Karl only to find Bree in possession of. I thought the whole jig was going to be up right there, but Bree covered up by saying she found it at an antique store. Whoever found it must have sold it to the antique store she bought it from. Nice move. I don’t see how long Bree and Karl are going to be able to keep the charade much longer, and after Orson visits the same antique store, only to have the owner tell him they only sell furniture, he may end up figuring it out. Karl proposes to Bree, telling her he wants to be a changed man and Bree marrying him will be the best way to do it. Bree tells him she needs to see Karl change before she will even consider it.

And of course, there’s Angie. This storyline is becoming my favorite so far of the season. Angie tells Katherine her mother died and then walks in on her talking to her mother on the phone later. Thinking quickly, Angie tells her it was her mother-in-law. But, what was more interesting was the fact that Angie tells her mother it’s too risky for her to visit yet, so I am guessing that Angie and her family might be in a witness protection program, but obviously in hiding.  I am very excited to see how this is going to pan out.

So, what did you think of this episode? Who do you think Bree will/should choose? How messy are things going to get between Katherine, Susan and Mike? Will Tom ever grow up? Will he drop out of college? Is Gabby really a good mom? And what the hell is up with Angie?

Confused? Yeah, me too!

Guess we’ll just have to keep watching!

Until Next Time!

Happy Viewing

Desperate Housewives Season 6; Episode 5 “Everybody Ought To Have A Maid”

desperatehousewives-1

“Desperate Housewives”

Season 6; Episode 5

“Everybody Ought to Have a Maid”

Originally Aired: Oct. 25, 2009

In this week’s episode, Gabby’s skills as a mother are seriously doubted when Juanita and a friend get hurt playing together. Julie comes home from the hospital and informs Nick (Dominick) that their affair is over.  Since Bree has fired Katherine, the rest of the gals agree Katherine needs help before they have another Mary Alice on their hands. Mike tells Susan about Katherine hitting on him, but not to worry about it. Nick and Danny discuss the affair with Julie and threatens to tell Angie if it persists.

Mrs. McCluskey asks Lynette if she and Tom can hire Roy as a handyman so he can have some walking around money, and therefore, improve her sex life, which Lynette was none too pleased to know about. She agrees anyway.

The maid at Bree and Karl’s coital motel, is none too pleased when she finds out that Bree is cheating on her husband. Which leads to a heartwarming confrontation between the two women, but resulting in Bree continuing the affair, convinced that she doesn’t deserve the love that Orson still has for her.

Everyone’s canceling on Juanita’s birthday because one of the mother’s on the block is spreading the rumor that kids aren’t safe at Gaby’s house. Gaby asks Carlos for cash to solve the problem. He wonders if it wouldn’t be easier to just watch the kids while the play. Yeah, right. Like a normal mom? Gabby goes all out for Juanita’s Birthday with bouncy houses, a clown and a live chimp, which makes the other girls in the neighborhood demand their mothers allow them to attend Juanita’s party after all. The other moms reluctantly give in and it seems that Gabby has the upper hand until the chimp goes berserk and tries to kill the clown, reaffirming what the other mother’s suspected all along about Gabby’s effectiveness as a Mother, until Carlos reminds her that the girls have turned out quite well and were able to protect themselves from the psycho chimp, even with Gabby’s lack of responsibility.

Roy and Lynette argue over where to put a birdhouse. Tom wanted to put it in one part of the yard, Lynette another. Roy calls Tom the man of the house and, unlike Lynette, wants to treat the guy with a little respect. They fight, she fires him and in the process destroys the birdhouse. Tom smoothes everything over with Roy, by telling him why Lynette’s a control freak: an absent dad, a drunkard mom, and he lets her control him because it makes her feel safe and that’s his job as her husband. One of the finest written and acted scenes this season so far! And Lynette and Roy patch things up.

Danny Gives Julie a gun for protection, which ends up being used by Susan on someone outside their home. Katherine ends up getting grazed by the gun, not being seriously hurt, yet the Bolens end up having to cover the mess up. Katherine wants to call the police on Susan but Angie talks her out of it.

What’s in store for the ladies in the next episode?

Keep it here to find out!

Until Next Time,
